Gabriel Medina's injury rumors yesterday in Uluwatu

The Brazilian took a nasty knock freesurfing yesterday and has not been seen since. Watch the video

Stab magazine has just published a note in which it asks if Medina injured his knee based on a video of  his last training session in Uluwatu, which took place yesterday and since then he has not been seen again.

The video was filmed by Ryan Williams, and he compiles the hit that knocked out John John, another one from Jordy Smith, which doesn't end up in the majors, and this one from Medina. The filmmaker writes: “John was knocked out by his aerial, which you can see in this clip, Jordy is fine, Gabriel was filmed yesterday and I haven't seen him since… I hope he's okay, his knee got hit hard.”

What is clear is that when landing one of his classic alley oops, the back foot slips and the front foot sticks. This results in the board moving forward, his knee bending sharply and his legs moving further apart than expected.

It is worth remembering that the knee that twisted violently in Bali was the same one that had been twisted in Australia at the beginning of 2017.

For now it's all speculation, although the break looks pretty bad. The tournament starts on Friday in Uluwatu and the waves look like they're going to be pretty fun.

Medina is tipped to face Jack Robinson in round 7 series 3.
