Gabriel Vargas: “It was one of the best sessions I have ever had in my life”
Breaking through unknown or almost unknown terrain in Peru: A great mix of El Murciélago and Duranbah Bay in their classic days
Presents Billabong - Billabong Peru
The young and talented Gabriel Vargas was given the information that this particular break somewhere in the north chico was working.
He was about to go to sleep, he didn't know much about what to do, but he decided to go for the waves that they told him to.
He didn't know what would happen and step by step, little by little he found a great tube that was a mix of El Murciélago de Manta and Duranbah Bay in their classic days.
And little by little he began to experience that he could ride the wave. The required drop, and a second section that was very hollow and fast.
Vargas took some hits.
Talking about everything a bit, he blundered, he explained that he spoke with friends but then said that he didn't do it, that it was better not to talk about it.
An interesting story about the taming of an incredible wave.
