Gary Linden plans global big wave event for 2025
The Big Wave Alliance is coming, which will crown the world champion of the discipline, the Brazilian Confederation reported in an official note

Legendary surfer Gary Linden is planning a global big wave event for 2025, the Brazilian Surfing Confederation announced in an official statement.
He says that “a few days ago, some members of the Big Waves Brazil Movement (BWB) met with world Big Surf legend Gary Linden, creator of the former Big Wave Surf Tour and former president of the Association of Surfing Professionals – ASP (currently World Surf League – WSL), who is creating a new World Big Wave Surfing competition, called Big Wave Alliance.”
They add: “The idea of the Big Wave Alliance is to bring together the top finishers in competitions from the main big wave spots in the world in a single international competition, awarding the winner the title of World Champion of Big Wave Surfing.”
According to the reports, the event to be held this Monday in Cardoso will qualify for this global tournament.
