The epic waves of Nias will host a QS event after more than 10 years, when a men's and women's QS 24 will be held from August 28 to 1000, the WSL announced in a press release, adding one more stop to what has already become a trend in Indo: QSs with perfect waves in the archipelago of 11.000 islands, just like everyone wants.

The thing is that they still don't reach the score that allows them to classify the best in good waves for surfing in good waves, like those in the CT, but this is a start.

Tipi Jabrik from the Asian Surfing Circuit recalled that Nias hosted tournaments in the 1990s and that this can only “bring good things to tourism in the area and the country.”

In the statement, the WSL warns competitors to be “careful” because there is a strong chance that two more events will be held in Indonesia, the Simeulue Pro and the West Sumbawa Pro.

Things have become so interesting in Indonesia that the calendar also includes stages in Rote, West Java and the tournament in Krui has already taken place.

The history of events in Nias begins in 1996 with a championship won by Aussie Brendan Margierson, the following year his compatriot Paul Paterson won. Three years later, in 2000, there was another event there which was won by Sasha Stocker, the only goofy of the group,

From then on, the right was reserved for epic freesurfing sessions that will be cut off for a few days in August.
