Guatemala, Peru, El Salvador and Panama have shown interest in hosting the 2025 Pan American Surfing Championship, ISA President Karín Sierralta told DUKE in an interview about the evolution of Guatemalan surfing.

In view of the fact that the authorities of that country mentioned that they would like to organize a Pan American surfing event there, which would be the first in its history, Sierralta answered: “If the federation really has the intention of holding a Pan American event, we are happy to accept it, but there are several countries applying: maybe El Salvador, maybe Panama, maybe Peru… So we will see.”

Bertrand Piedrasanta, president of ASOSURF, declared that he would like to end his mandate with a Pan American Games organized by and in Guatemala: “I think we can do it, we have a lot of capacity to do it and we are going to look for the means and if we are given the opportunity, we will do it.”

Peru was the organizer of the previous Pan American Games, this year's 2024. Meanwhile, Panama has already organized the 2022 and 2023 Pan American Games.

The only two of the four countries that have not participated in the Pan American Games are El Salvador and Guatemala.
