Hawaiian local dies surfing Sunset
Authorities have not yet released his name, he was 52 years old
The end of the season has been hectic in Hawaii, with several swells coming in the last few days, and yesterday Saturday was no exception, with good conditions breaking on the north coast of Oahu, making the main spots work.
Sunset was no exception, the waves broke with more than five meters of face.
In that scenario, according to what Hawaii News Now reported According to local media, a 52-year-old man died after going overboard on a wave. His body was found floating, he was pulled out of the water and then firefighters tried to revive him and when they were unsuccessful he was immediately taken to the hospital, visiting surfer Garra Mendez from Hawaii who spent Saturday surfing Sunset told DUKE.
Once at the hospital he was declared dead.
According to Méndez, the man fell into a wave between two others, which worked against him, and he ended up falling and then ending his life.
He was married and had two children.
