Hawaiian surfer is running for the White House in 2020
Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard will try to unseat Donald Trump from office

Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard announced yesterday in an interview with CNN that she will seek the presidency of the United States in the upcoming elections to be held in November 2020.
The Hawaiian was the first person of Indian descent to serve in her country's Congress, is a member of the Democratic Party and served in her country's army as a volunteer on several missions to Iraq. She was born in American Samoa and grew up in Hawaii, where she often surfs, although she lives in Washington DC.
"I have decided to run for president and I will be making a formal announcement next week," Gabbard said on Van Jones's talk show last night.
According to what Vanity Fair magazine published at the end of 2018, Gabbard is one of the women who could deprive Donald Trump of his re-election.
In a piece published by surfing outlet The Inertia, the surfer said that more people in Washington should surf. She also noted that she brings the aloha spirit wherever she goes.
Gabbard is 37 years old and says she got into politics primarily to address environmental issues.
