Hector Santamaria was invited to the Waco aerial event

The Puerto Rican is one of the 16 aerialists who will be part of the tournament in the pool with the best ramp in the world

Puerto Rican Héctor Santamaría was invited to the Stab High, an aerials tournament that will bring together the best in the specialty on September 22 in the wave pool at BSR Cable Park, in Waco, Texas; the pool is considered to have the best aerials section.

Santamaría joins and will compete with a very solid list of aerialists that includes Albee Layer, Noa Deane, Matt Meola, Chippa Wilson, Dion Agius, Mason Ho and a select etcetera.

This recognition acts as a reinforcement in the Puerto Rican's goal of getting into the WSL's special aerial event.

In the description of Hector’s tournament on the website, they note: “Using the power of Chi to power his aerials, Hector Santamaria is the most eccentric aerialist we’ve ever seen. The Puerto Rican can flip waves that barely reach his neck, and he’s happier to surf than anyone.”

The full list of participants includes:

Chippa Wilson
Albee Layer
Matt Meola
Dion Agius
Jett Schilling
Mason Ho
Ian Crane
Jay Davies
Nao Deane
Eithan Osborne
Harry Bryant
Brendon Gibbens
Eli Hanneman
Hector Santamaria

The format states that each surfer will be given four rights and four lefts and the best of these will be added up to make it to the semis. The format will then be repeated to determine the finalists. From there the champion will be determined.
