Brisa Hennessy of Costa Rica, member of the CT and qualifier for Paris 2024, said that her health has improved and that she is ready to compete, she told her country's federation in an interview posted on Facebook.

Brisa is in Costa Rica where she was seen surfing hard with a Merrick board without logos and in the video she is seen training in a gym. She said that she is now going to Fiji, and that although she is taking everything calmly, she plans to return to competition in December and January, when the tour begins, and that in May she wants to go to Teahupoo to train.

“I am resting and doing different things that improve my mind and body. I am taking different medications, breathing differently, doing yoga, doing different workouts and improving every day thanks to God,” she said.

“It’s really a crazy journey, but I have a lot of doctors who are working and I’m very happy to have this time to rest,” she added.

“I am planning very slowly. I don’t know what will happen in the future, but I am training my mind, it is a priority for me to be strong in my mind,” he said.

Referring to her illness, she explained: “It was difficult, every day is different; some days I am happy and have energy and other days I don’t.”

At the end of 2022, she had an MRI in Hawaii and the benign tumor was found in her pituitary gland. According to Brisa and her doctors, a whole series of symptoms were due to the fact that the tumor is precisely affecting the functioning of the gland that is essential in hormonal regulation.

“The pituitary gland is a small, casserole-sized gland located near the brain. It is part of the endocrine system, which regulates the body’s hormones. This gland is often referred to as the “master endocrine gland” because it releases hormones that affect many bodily functions,” writes the Cancer.net website.
