Hennessy missed the cut but was guaranteed a spot at the 2026 CT.
With the expanded women's tour, she finished 14th; Alejo Muñiz cracked the top 22, making the cut and re-ranking; Jordy Smith is the new ranking leader.
Costa Rican Brisa Hennessy failed to make it past her round of 16 heat at Margaret River and was eliminated from the event and the 2025 CT. However, by finishing 14th, she guaranteed herself a spot on the new and expanded 2026 women's tour, which will feature 24 women instead of 16 and therefore qualifies up to the top 14.
By 400 points, 21840 to 21420, Hennessy managed to secure the spot and not the Australian Sally Fitzgibbons, who will have to compete in the challenger series.
This year's reclassification had significant significance because next year's tour will not have finals and will return to its old structure with 12 stops and the final stage at Pipe.
In her series against Caitlin Simmers, the Costa Rican achieved one of her highest scores of the year: 14,16, which was not enough to beat the Californian's 14,5.
On the other hand, Italo's poor result and Jordy Smith's qualification for the semifinals meant the yellow jersey went to the South African.
The men's semi-finals will see
Griffin Colapinto vs. Barrona Mamiya
Crosby Colapinto vs. Jordy Smith
And in women
Bronte Macaulay vs. Caitlin Simmers
Gabriela Bryan with Lakey Peterson
Jordy Smith's victory over Imaikalani Devault gave Alejo Muñiz a chance to breathe, as he would only be out of the cut and the 2026 CT if the Hawaiian Devault won the stage.
With his defeat, Muñiz, who returned to the tour after eight years of trying, guaranteed a spot in the second half of the year and in 2026.
The top 10 of each gender was as follows (with the semis still to be held):
