Hiroto Ohhara won the trials in Kelly's pool and will be at the Surf Ranch Pro
They took place yesterday at Slater's pool. Rob Machado, Jake Marshall, Barron Mamiya and the Japanese competed
Japanese surfer Hiroto Ohhara won the trials for the Surf Ranch Pro yesterday and got fully involved in the second CT of his life (he had participated in Lowers last year), the first to be held in a wave pool, the WSL reported through its Instagram stories and confirmed to DUKE by press officer Dave Prodan.
The main sponsor of the tournament, Hurley, carried out trials on the wave yesterday, with Rob Machado, Jake Marshall, Barron Mamiya and the Japanese rider who ended up winning competing.
With a guaranteed spot at the Sept. 7-9 CT, Ohhara joked back to her 2015 U.S. Open winning speech: “I’m going to get a driver’s license and buy some cars.”
