Howard Gomez and Margarita Conde are the new Colombian surfing champions
The young man from Cartagena took the national title in a thrilling final at the fourth stop of the tour. Meanwhile, the local from Puerto Colombia took the stage and the crown.
By finishing second in the fourth and final stage of the Colombian surfing circuit, young man Howard Gómez from Cartagena de Indias was crowned national champion after a final not suitable for people with heart problems.
Gomez needed to get ahead of Simon Salazar and he did just that after completing a pair of low-light aerials in the final series of the 2018 season.
With a good combination of powerful and modern surfing, the stage was won by the Colombian who lives in Costa Rica, Anderson Tascón, who had a chance to win the title but needed Gómez and Salazar to place worse in the final stage.
Meanwhile, in the women's category, the fluid Margarita Conde won the stage and took the national title.
The Colombian surfing federation has not yet announced the winners of the other divisions.

We will expand.
