Huntington Beach to host 2018 ISA Junior World Championships
Following Olympic schemes, equality between male and female members will also apply in this event.
The 2018 edition of the Junior World Championships will take place in Huntington Beach, California from October 27 to November 4, the International Surfing Association (ISA) reported in a press release.
The authority also announced that this will be the first world championship in this category with gender equality in the composition of the teams. A full team will be made up of up to three men and three women in the Under-16 and Under-18 divisions, totaling 12 participants per team. Previously, four men and two women traveled per category.
On the other hand, it was reported that the ISA renewed its contract with Vissla as the main sponsor of this championship until 2020. Last year, 306 surfers from 41 countries attended the event.
