Europe exploded (and there's more to come)
From Portugal to Ireland, a look at what happened on the old continent on day 1 of the mega swell
The hearts of European surfers beat faster and with more enthusiasm today, Wednesday, on the first day of the historic mega swell that hit all of Europe.
The pattern seems to have been repeated everywhere with the waves coming in bigger in the afternoon, although for example, in Galicia waves were seen early, with Eric Ribiere taking some bombs in Portiño, Galicia.
Then Axi Muniain and friends did the same on an Ilha Pancha that proved to be very challenging.
Incredible images from Ireland and some good waves in the Basque Country have appeared. It looks like it's going to get impressive tomorrow.
Below are some of the best images of what the swell left behind today.
