ISA World Championships in Adaptive Surfing postponed to 2020

A busy second half of the year for the organization forced the decision. They are “tentatively” planning to hold it in early March next year.

The International Surfing Association has postponed the World Championships in Adaptive Surfing, which usually take place at the end of the year, until “tentatively” March 2020, the organization announced in a statement sent to its members, which DUKE had access to.

“Our organization added two additional events to the 2019 calendar, the Lima 2019 Pan American Games and a Tokyo 2020 Test event. This has resulted in a busy second half of 2019 with three more World Championships taking place between September and December,” the letter reads.

“Given the busy end of the year, the ISA has been forced to postpone the ISA World Adaptive Surfing Championship,” it added.

The ISA clarifies that the postponement of this event until 2020 has in no way halted our commitment to Para Surfing or our efforts to develop and grow it.
