ISA and El Salvador signed an important three-year agreement

The World Longboard Championships and the Junior World Championships or the World Surfing Games, one or the other, will be held there between 2025 and 2027.

The International Surfing Association's longboard world championships will be held in El Salvador between 2025 and 2027, and either the ISA World Surfing Games or the junior world championships will take place in the Central American country, ISA President Fernando Aguerre announced at the ISA annual general meeting.

“The ISA and the government of El Salvador signed an agreement to host the longboard event, the World Surfing Games or the Junior World Championships there in the next three years,” said Aguerre in front of approximately 40 member federations at the meeting that took place on December 12.

The topic arose because the Polish Federation requested that information be provided on events for the next five years.

Aguerre said he would like to guarantee all the events but is not in a position to do so, but can bring forward the aforementioned agreement with El Salvador.

This implies that El Salvador will most likely host one or two of the qualifiers for Los Angeles 2028.

And also that the layer 1 qualifications for the Lima 2027 Pan American Games will take place there, both on shortboard and longboard.
