Current leader of the rankings, Pipe Masters and two-time world champion John John Florence, without having received the scores from Sunset and without having sent the waves from Pipe, already has a hand and a half in this year's Hawaiian triple crown.

Florence received a 29,4 and a 27,2 (out of a possible 30) for her incredible waves at Haleiwa, but then she went to Sunset and did some crazy surfing, some of the best and most revolutionary surfing at Sunset in a long time. Using a shorter board than everyone else and carving with surfing that was out of this world.

There are still two waves left at Pipe, which is known to be his strongest point and in fact he has already shown on his social networks that he has a couple of strong waves.

Note: Kelly is also competing and looks strong, but he is not getting close to his young Hawaiian friend.

The waiting period runs until January 18.
