If Nadia Erostarbe wins in Saquarema she qualifies for the CT without depending on anyone

And, regardless of her result, having reached the quarterfinals already guaranteed her a spot in the top 10 and therefore, at least, in the 2024 challengers; Isabella Nichols is keeping an eye on her

Basque surfer Nadia Erostarbe needs to win the Saquarema challenger to qualify for the 2024 CT and now she does not depend on the results of any other surfer to achieve this, the WSL reported in the live broadcast of the tournament.

Only she and Australian Isabella Nichols can achieve the only fifth place left available for qualification to the elite.

When the tournament had started, the WSL had reported Erostarbe's mathematical chances but had pointed out that it would depend on the rest of the surfers.

Erostarbe won its round of 16 series today against French player Thessa Thyssen.

With the results that have occurred in these four days of championships in which her main contenders lost, now Nadia only depends on herself, if she wins, she qualifies for the CT.

She would surpass Nichols by 22810 to 22725, which is what the Australian, who lost in the round of XNUMX today, had to finish the year.

An important fact for Erostarbe's campaign, which just started in Ballito, South Africa, the third stage of the six challengers of the year, which then continued in Huntington where she placed fifth again and last week she placed ninth, is that with the result she already achieved in Saquarema, in the quarter-finals, she at least guaranteed herself a place in the top 10 of the challengers, which guarantees her reclassification to this circuit.

According to calculations made by DUKE, the Zarautz native has already surpassed Ellie Harrison, Sarah Baum, Teresa Bonvalot, Bella Kenworthy and Zahli Kelly, at least, and could advance further positions depending on where she is placed in the Brazilian stage.
