If the Tahiti Pro starts tomorrow, Slater will have a tough time making it to his series
With a minimum of 40 hours of travel from Skeleton to Tahiti, how does the best in the world do it if yesterday he was in the water in Namibia?

True to form, Kelly Slater leaves the question of whether she will be ready for the Tahiti Pro in time.
While in Namibia, where he was able to surf one of the heaviest swells ever broken, the best one in history is at least 40 hours from the nearest airport to Skeleton Bay and Papeete, the capital of Tahiti.
From there it's another hour and a half to get to Teahupoo.
To make matters worse, Kelly is in the first heat of the event, facing Yago Dora and Ian Gentil.
While all 23 other surfers in the event have been in Polynesia for days enjoying perfect waves, Slater has been going left but on the other side of the world.
What plays in Kelly's favor and surely has everything bet is that the wave forecast indicates a poor start and the best waves coming in around August 15.
The waiting period for the Tahiti Pro runs from August 11 to 22.
