Imanol Yeregi won the Caparica Pro and got his first victory in a QS
Erostarbe, Suárez, Zubizarreta, Peña, Carrique and Schweizer took the podium in the multidisciplinary Portuguese tournament
The young Basque Imanol Yeregi, known for surfing giant waves, once again demonstrated that his game in small seas is on par with the best in the world and won his first QS, Caparica Pro level 1000 which he concluded today in waves of half to one meter.
In second place in the men's division was the defending champion, Galician Gony Zubizarreta, third was Frenchman Ugo Robin and fourth was Canarian Yael Peña.
“I’m super happy to win my first QS, especially facing Gony who was surfing so well throughout the tournament,” Yeregi told the WSL after getting out of the water. “I couldn’t hear anything and I found out I had won when I was on the sand and Hodei (Collazo) congratulated me. Ruben (Vitoria) and I trained together and we hope to make a big effort in Zarautz next week.”

Meanwhile, among the ladies, Nadia Erostarbe, who had just finished as a finalist in the Pro Espinho, made it to the junior and professional finals, finishing third in both. Melania Suárez from the Canary Islands, who won the last event, finished second this time (the champions were Justine Dupont and Anat Lelior from Israel).
At the youth level, the Costa Rican naturalized French, Tiago Carrique achieved second place and in Longboard, the Uruguayan Julián Schweizer placed third.
