The WSL Triple Crown begins in eight days, is anyone going?
Everything indicates that in hours or days the WSL will announce, once again, changes to its 2020 schedule
The WSL calendar still shows the Triple Crown, consisting of the Hawaiian Pro at Haleiwa, the World Cup of Surfing at Sunset and the Pipe Masters, will be held on the same date between November 13 and December 20.
It is highly likely that the QS, Haleiwa and Sunset stages will not be held and that hopes will remain that the 2021 world tour will begin in Pipe, as the organization previously announced.
The first two are open to all ranked players from around the world, and it would be a big challenge to say that the event is taking place when it is surely difficult for many to get there.
They must be scratching their heads at the WSL Santa Monica offices as to why they waited so long to announce that there will be no QSs at Haleiwa and Sunset.
And they will surely wait until the last minute for the Pipe Masters, which has fewer competitors, 36, which is 32 plus the guests, all of whom are Hawaiian.
The reality is that all CT surfers have traveled, or at least, one surfer per country that is part of the CT has managed to travel, but it is still very difficult to believe that true normality will return to the first division.
In true WSL style, Erik Logan is expected to announce with a chicken-face that everything is being postponed until next year.
It seems at least a little disrespectful to surfers and fans that there is once again secrecy regarding a sensitive issue that should not suffer from it.
I hope I'm wrong (if anyone knows anything, please let me know).
The perks of a horrible life due to a flu that has blocked the planet.
