Confirmed: There will be no ISA Junior World Championships in 2021

The only remaining event for the entity this year is the World Para Surfing Championship to be held at Pismo Beach from December 7-11.

The International Surfing Association has confirmed that it is not planning any more events in 2021 than the Para Surfing World Championships, which will take place from December 7 to 11 in Psimo Beach, California.

“At this point in the global pandemic, and in the best interest of all stakeholders, we do not anticipate holding another ISA World Championships in 2021,” said a statement sent to the federation’s member associations on August 31, 2021.

In the letter, which also refers to the success of surfing at the Olympic Games, they state that in 2022 they hope to have a complete championship of events in which El Salvador will have the junior world championship, as the only confirmed stage.

The rest of the world championships, such as SUP, the World Surfing Games and Para Surfing, among others, remain to be defined.
