It is confirmed that there will be an ISA longboard world championship in 2023

It will be a qualifier for Santiago 2023; ISA authorities also assured that there will be no 2022 edition of the event

There will be an ISA Longboard World Championship in 2023, Panamsports reported in the document distributed by PASA informing the surfing classification criteria for Santiago 2023 and confirmed to DUKE by ISA President Fernando Aguerre.

The authority also reported that the event will not be held in 2022, being, along with the world masters and bodyboard, the only three events that the ISA 2022 calendar will not have; there will be a World Surfing Games, a World SUP and paddleboard Championship, a Para Surfing Championship and there was already a youth world championship.

The longboard-only tournament has been held three times (Huanchaco in 2013, Hainan in 2018 and Biarritz in 2019), and next year's tournament, which has not yet been set, will be the fourth in the history of the ISA.

According to the aforementioned document distributed yesterday, this event will classify the four best male and four eligible female longboarders from the Panamsports area, with the latter having the highest hierarchy for qualification to Santiago 2023.
