“Even after all this time, yes, I still have something to prove. I need to go out there and show that the wildcard was for the right person. Even if I had lost that round, maybe I would have felt the same, but I think I proved my worth there,” he concluded.

Slater will now face Jack Robinson in the round of 16, who scored 18,20 points to beat Callum Robson (who scored 17,4).
