After having a very good first round of the Rottnest Island CT qualifier, Uruguayan Matías Nóbrega said goodbye to a historic participation in which, for the first time, a person from his country had direct chances to compete in the first division of world surfing.
At the event held last weekend at Big Rock, Gracetown, the La Paloma local started well, in the round 1 series, he faced the eventual runner-up, Jerome Forest, and they went through together scoring more than 13 points. The following day, the Sunday of the finals, he closed his participation.
The event was won by the young and talented locals Kael Walsh and Felicity Palmateer who will compete against the best in the world in what will be the fifth stage of the 2020-2021 tour.
