Ítalo Ferreira has a new coach in Leandro Dora who, starting now, for the Margaret stage, will be at his service, the athlete's press department reported.

Ferreira was training with Rainos Hayes but for reasons that were not revealed that relationship came to an end.

“At the start of the season, I began without a coach and felt vulnerable and even insecure, not only technically, but also emotionally. I found myself having to perform at my best and, at the same time, think about strategy, analyze the waves, the scores, and the heats. That's when I decided to change my strategy. I have always admired and respected Leandro's work,” said Ferreira.

He added: “Last year I even told him I wanted to take the course he teaches to learn more about his methodology. I think he’s a very experienced person, who has been involved in the circuit for several years and has a great track record. I see him as someone who can undoubtedly contribute a lot to my career.”

Ferreira joins Dora experts Lakey Peterson, Luana Silva and Matheus Herdy.

“When he called me, it was incredible, because of the athlete he is and his track record, not only in competitions but also in performance. His talent and all the effort he has dedicated to achieving everything he has throughout his career is very gratifying for me. The fact that he called me to be together and that we hope to give our best this year, especially me, since I've been a fan of his surfing for a long time and have followed him for the last few years in the same environment, observing the dedication with which he approaches his work,” said Dora.
