Italo Ferreira won his third stage of the year in Portugal

He beat Joan Duru in the grand final. In the semis he beat Medina and took the decision of the tour to Hawaii


Brazilian Italo Ferreira won the tenth stage of the year, the Rip Curl Pro Portugal, which concluded today in clean waves of half to one meter at Supertubos beach. He beat Frenchman Joan Duru in the grand final thanks to his impressive aerial game.

On paper it looked like the waves were going to be barrels of four to six feet, but they dawned small and the team waited until the afternoon for them to improve. They didn't and the tournament was launched anyway. The conditions were perfect but they were far from showing the barrels that were expected.

Ferreira had balls in the semis when he had to fly with three minutes on the clock to beat Medina who was going all out to win the title.

With this, the Brazilian won his third stage of the year and remains in fourth place. He is the surfer with the most victories this year but his chances of winning the title are not like those of Wilson, Medina and Toledo because he was very inconsistent.
