Italo Ferreira won the first Airborne of 2019
Four of six finalists were Brazilians
Brazilian Italo Ferreira took the first stage of the Airborne that closed the second day of the Quik and Boost Mobile Pro competition. A frontside flight at the start of the series left him in first place with 7,17. Heazelwood was second with 6,77 and last year's champion Yago Dora was third with 6.07.
This is how the result was completed:
1 - Italo Ferreira (BRA)
2 - Reef Heazlewood (AUS)
3 - Yago Dora (BRA)
4 - Mitch Parkinson (AUS)
5 - Filipe Toledo (BRA)
6 - Mateus Herdy (BRA)
“That was an epic final,” Ferreira said after the win. “It was special because there was Filipe and Yago and for me those two are the best in the air. I’m so happy for the win. I tried to go all out in the first five minutes and I landed first. It was fun,” he concluded.
The next Airborne events will be in Keramas and Hossegor.
