Olympic and world champion Italo Ferreira took aim at his Instagram group after finishing his Lowers match against Australian Joel Vughan: “I would like to write many things here, but I prefer to remain silent.”
He posted on “Meu Mundo,” the Instagram channel, and before that he had written: “You have to have a lot of cold blood to endure all that.”
The comments are loose, without images, and it's not clear whether they're related to the championship or not, although they suggest they are; the first one comes minutes after his series and the second a couple of hours later.
Ferreira lost in the final exchange to Joel Vughan, who scored 8,30 on his final wave, leaving him needing an 8,51; he rode a right-hander from start to finish and received a 7,27.
