A group of Italian architects is looking for investors to carry out plans to build Italy's first wave pool, local newspaper El The Telegraph The swimming pool would be located at the Caprilli racecourse in Livorno (west coast of Tuscany), where they plan to recycle the site, abandoned since 2016, into a surfing and other activities centre, occupying 180.000 square metres.

This is the fourth project of this kind in Italy, as Milan, Riccione and Rome have projects that aim to install waves far from the sea.

Nicola Pinzauti is the surfer entrepreneur who has taken on the project and has already begun meeting with potential investors.

The pool could be built as part of the larger project called the City of Sport or live a life of its own through funding. In both cases, however, it will be built on a private initiative and without any expenditure of public money.

In addition to the pool, the project plans to build services such as rooms for athletes, bars, restaurants, surf schools, a swimming pool, specialty shops and offices.

Regarding the football pitches seen in the image, they reported that for the moment it is only a proposal. The idea would be to turn it into a real football school, also dedicated to tourism. According to them, tourists from Nordic countries travel to Italy with their children so that they can train in Italy where the temperature is better.
