The 56th edition of the East Coast Surfing Championship had a Panamanian on top of the podium in the under 14 division after Izzy Elizondo won a close final in small waves yesterday in Virginia Beach, United States.

In the final she left three Americans behind, Charles Oblinger second, Braden Kopec third and Kailey Bogart fourth.

Elizondo won the event that brought together 32 of the best U14 players in the United States in one of its most traditional events.

The victory comes a week after the Panamanian won the final stage of the traditional Rip Curl Grom Search in North Carolina, which gave him a ticket to the national final of this event. It also comes two weeks after Costa Rican Aaron Ramirez won in New Smyrna, Florida. In other words, all the major grom events held in the United States in recent weeks were won by Central Americans.

Final result:
1st: Isauro Elizondo
2nd Charles Oblinger
3rd: Braden Kopec
4th: Kailey Bogart
