Jack Robinson underwent knee surgery

He suffered a meniscus injury two and a half years ago; it is unknown if he will be ready in time for the start of the season.

CT top 5 player Jack Robinson had knee surgery for a meniscus injury he had been carrying for two and a half years, he said on his social media.

His report indicates that everything went well, but it does not clarify whether he will be ready for the start of the season.

“I injured myself two and a half years ago at Bells Beach; a pretty serious meniscus tear. I managed to keep competing for two seasons, including all the competitions and the Olympics. With the right training and diet, the doctors were impressed that it had almost completely regenerated without surgery, but the pain never completely went away and I couldn't push myself to the limit,” says Jack.

“Now, with some time to rest, it’s finally time to treat it properly. The surgery was a success, and I’m focused on recovering, getting stronger, and coming back better than ever,” he declared.

Medical websites indicate that recovery time: “Varies between 4 and 8 weeks for a partial meniscectomy (where the meniscus is cut) and can exceed 3 months for a meniscal suture (where the meniscus is repaired), reaching about 6 months for a full recovery.”

The world tour begins in Bells between April 1st and 11th. There are five months left until it starts.
