Janire González Etxebarri won the QS 4000 in England and rose to number one in the rankings

Basque surfer Janire González Etxebarri won the QS 4000, the Boardmasters in Newquay, England, and scored 4000 points for the European ranking, which now has her in first place.

González Etxebarri went through three series and in the grand final he scored 12,10 to leave Nahia Mihau of France in second with 10,2, Sol Borelli of Spain with 7,26 and Clemence Sschorsh of France in fourth.

Among the men, Sean Gunning, who is having good performances in the CS, made the final, placing fourth and rising to sixth place in the regional ranking.

Kai and Hans Odriozola made the semis at the event.

The longboard series, which have Nico Andrade and Jon Garmendia in the semis, are still to be contested.
