Janire González is the new European youth surfing champion

Lucía Machado took the runner-up title and once again demonstrated the strength of Spanish surfing at the female level in the region


Spain dominated the women's section of the European surfing championship, the Pro Espinho, which concluded with fun, one-metre breaking right-handers at Portugal's Praia da Baia.

Both first place and second place in the event, occupied by Janire González Etxebarri and Lucía Machado respectively, went to the red team.

It is the most important title of González Etxebarri's career, which spans 15 years and he has been standing out in international events.

Tahitian Kauli Vaast was crowned European champion in his category, leaving Afonso Antunes of Portugal in second, Kylian Guerin of France in third and Guilhermo Ribeiro of Portugal in fourth.
