Jadson André has already guaranteed himself a spot on the CT 2020 tour
If they make it to the round of 16 today in Pantín, there is no one who can knock them out of the elite. Banting and Silva took an important step and so did Carlos Muñoz, who is very close to his dream.
By qualifying for the round of 10.000 of the QS 2020 Pantín Classic today, Brazilian Jadson André has guaranteed himself a place on the 16600 world tour. André already has 600 points, with 3700 left to discard and has guaranteed himself at least 19700, which will leave him with at least XNUMX points after the Galicia tournament.
According to DUKE's calculations, based on the fact that the cut-off point in previous years was around 18.000, and even considering that this year there will be more than 10.000 more points distributed, it is not enough for 10 surfers considering double classifications to reach it.
With three 10.000s and one 6.000 remaining, there aren't enough points for the nine non-double qualifiers below Jadson to catch him.
Two other riders who have appeared in the CT today were Matt Banting, who is returning, and Deivid Silva who wants to be sure. The Australian is ruling out 1.000 points, but with these 3700 points at least he is close to 15.000. Meanwhile, Deivid, who won in Ballito, is ruling out a result of 370 points and is now at more than 16.000 (Deivid is still 16th in the CT rankings).
Jorgan Couzinet, who is in first place, will not score any points after having fallen in the round of 48.
It should not be overlooked that Costa Rican Carlos Muñoz is still in the race and has a total of 10.000 points (excluding the discard), if he wins he is guaranteed and if he comes second he puts one foot and a half inside.
