Former professional and current tour commissioner Jessi Miley-Dyer is the new vice president of the tour and head of competitions for the WSL, the organization announced in a statement sent to the press yesterday.
Miley-Dyer takes over from Pat O'Connell who is leaving to pursue "new opportunities," the release said. The role change takes effect March 1 and the former star of The Endless Summer will remain as a "multiple-time" consultant for Miley-Dyer and WSL CEO Erik Logan.
The position will see the Australian oversee WSL tours including the CT, Challenger Series, Qualifying Series, Pro Junior Series, Big Wave Events, Longboard, and Special Events and Series.
“I feel very fortunate to have made a career out of something I love and something that has given me so much after retiring from professional competition. I am excited to take the sport into a new era,” she said.
