What an interesting surfer Joaquín del Castillo is. With his humility and good vibes, he goes to Mecca every winter to ride the heaviest and most desired waves on the planet. Quietly, winter after winter, he manages to take home a couple of gems that are among the finalists of the winter wave (or hit the post, like this year's).

And he does it with a very risky strategy. On those days when Pipe is huge, with the bombs from the third reef sweeping the line up, with few people in the water, one of the few present is Joaquín. His presence is not limited to being in the water but also to getting tubes.

But what makes it even more interesting is that in a session X at Rocky Point he also stands out with that strong arsenal of aerials he has.
