Peruvian Joaquín del Castillo won the second stage of the Latin surfing circuit, the three-star event that took place for the first time on Chorrillos beach in Barranca, about 150 kilometers north of Lima.

With neat and consistent right-handers, Del Castillo beat Sebastián Correa by an excellent 17 (9,33+7,67), well above his opponent's 11,17 (7+4,17). Ricardo Cruzado and the young Gabriel Vargas tied for third place.

The women's category was won by Venezuelan Rossany Álvarez, who beat none other than Sofía Mulanovich (second), Alessia Moro (third) and Analí Gómez (fourth) with a time of 13,17.

Chilean junior Noel de la Torre won his second consecutive stage of the year and is the undisputed leader of the ranking. He is having an impeccable race and with this he remains a firm favourite to be the first Chilean member of the CT. He left Sebastián Tello in second place, his brother León in third place and Ricardo Williams in fourth place.

In the longboard category, one of the biggest surprises of recent years took place, especially in Peru: Two-time world champion Piccolo Clemente came second, behind his pupil Lucas Garrido Lecca. Third place went to Argentine Martín Pérez and fourth to Tamil Martino.

Finally, the SUP men's category was won by Jarita Gómez and the women's category by Vania Tórres.

The first Chilean in the CT? Very likely. Noel de la Torre is a talent to be taken into account.
Venezuela is back on top of the podium in Peru. At the Pan American Games it was Lolo Bellorin, in Barranca it was Rosanny Alvarez.
