After passing their heats in the stage currently being contested in Malibu and their closest rivals losing, Joel Tudor and Honolua Blomfield have been crowned three-time WSL longboard world champions.

The victory, the third of his career, comes 23 years after the second; now 45 years old, the Californian was once again the best of the season.

Blomfield, 22, won her trio four years after winning her first crown as an 18-year-old in 2017.

Tudor claimed the title with his victory at the Noosa festival in 2020 and his fifth-place finish at the Surf Ranch. Defeat to Edoard Delpero, who won at Slater's pool, left him in the position to win another title.

Meanwhile, Honolua, by beating Lindsey Steinride in the quarterfinals, guaranteed that no one could beat her.
