John John became a father and he didn't make much of a show on social media or anything like that.

But he does mention it in this video, in which he says that it is his first session as a father and that he is tired.

The Hawaiian tests fins and describes them, charts and takes notes on each one.

“I’ve been taking notes over the last few years to keep records of the boards and fins I ride. They’ve been a huge help as a way to organize those thoughts and provide feedback to Pyzel or the Futures team. It instantly improved our design process when we were able to add a visual record to the feedback I give them. It’s also become a big part of my competitive process, going through different sessions to choose what boards I pack for the tour or what I choose to ride in a heat based on the conditions. And an additional way to get feedback from someone like Ross. As we continued to record it, it became a way to test out other types of gear as well, whether it’s sample boards for Florence or something like a new design for Veia. I thought it would be fun to share some of it just to show the process. Plus, this was my first surf as a dad. Pretty excited about that!” says John John.
