John John brand launched line in collaboration with US military

It sparked controversy among the brand's followers.

Florence Marine X, the brand of John John Florence, launched a line of one of its flagship products, the hooded rashguard, honoring a United States Marine, Charles Humphrey Keating IV, or “C4,” who lost his life in 2016 in action.

Part of the proceeds from the sale of these rashguards, which feature the "Aloha Warrior" logo emblazoned with a skull and shaka symbol, will go to the foundation established in Charlie's honor, which seeks to reduce the stress of soldiers who have served in battle.

“Florence appreciates your support of the C4 Foundation, an organization dedicated to supporting the needs of Navy SEALs and their families. At Florence, we believe in supporting those who serve and are honored to contribute to the C4 Foundation’s vital mission of providing resources and support to this exceptional community. Together, we seek to make a meaningful difference in the lives of these heroes and their loved ones,” the YouTube video description states.

The comments on the YouTube video are mostly supportive of the initiative, but a large portion are angry, expressing their opposition to the imperialist policies of the United States.
