John John is in Bocas del Toro

He surfed the Bluff, the host wave of the Bocas International, with Ruben Villegas and Juampi Caraballo; he had some good rides and also took some hits; the wave doesn't forgive anyone

The Bluff, the host wave of Bocas International, is receiving one of its most illustrious visits in its history these days with the presence of three-time world champion John John Florence, one of the co-organizers of Bocas International, Ruben Villegas, told DUKE.

I surfed with him alone for about two hours. He came up to me and said, “Nice to meet you, I’m John,” and I said, “I know who you are” (laughs). He was super cool, super humble. He took a few wipeouts too because the waves weren’t easy, Bluff. He’s around with his wife and little boy. They interviewed Juampi Caraballo and are gathering information about Bocas,” Villegas told DUKE.

Florence had previously said that she was in the Bahamas where she bought a new, more spacious boat for family life, which she is sharing with her wife and children while sailing around the world.

He had said that he would cross the Panama Canal soon, which he has not yet done, and then set sail for the Pacific.
