Into the Storm, the film that follows the life of young Peruvian talent Jhonny Guerrero, won the jury prize at the Brooklyn Film Festival in the category of best documentary.

The 90-minute film was directed by Englishman Adam Brown and follows Jhonny and his entourage for more than five years. It shows the challenges that a young man from Chorrillos, a poor neighborhood in Lima, faces daily on his way to becoming a professional.

It features the collaboration and presence of filmmaker José Plaza, who shared on his Instagram: “The first laurels for Into the Storm, best documentary at the Brooklyn Film Festival. Let's hope more come and take Jhonny Guerrero's story around the world. At sea we are all equal! May it be the same on dry land.”

“I am so happy! We won the jury prize!” wrote the film’s star.
