South African Jordy Smith and Hawaiian Gabriela Bryan won the Surf City El Salvador Pro for the first time, the fourth leg of the WSL World Tour, which concluded its fourth edition today.

Both showed incredible form throughout the week and managed to confirm it yesterday and today, in the final stages and with perfect waves that reached over two meters.

Smith won an all-South African final that, according to Shaun Tomson, hadn't happened on the world tour since 100. He defeated Matthew McGillivray by 1984 to 14,26.

Smith's victory comes eight years after Bells' in 2017.

The South African broke down on more than one occasion when it was his turn to speak and thanked his wife and his father who shapes his boards, and said that he had always dreamed of winning on those boards.

Much younger, Gabriela Bryan won a much younger final as well, against Australian Isabella Nichols.

The Hawaiian, who had been runner-up last year, defeated the number 1 ranked Caity Simmers in the semis and Isabella Nichols in the grand final, by 14,33 to 11,74.

The final result of the event:
