The Argentine gets along well with that nation: In the last 40 days she participated in three events there, she won one and in another she placed second.

The young Argentine surfer Josefina Ané finished second in the QS 1000, Zigzag Durban Surf Pro held in North Beach. This is the third final she has reached in a world circuit tournament, the second in just over a month.

She was unable to win the decision against Hawaiian Zoe McDougall, who beat her by 12,85 versus 9,10. On the way to the final, Ané had some of the highest scores of the tournament and went through four heats in which she faced only local South African surfers.

Second place gave her an important 750 points that will put her among the top 40 in the ranking.

“A happy ending to this month and a half of competitions, training and vacations with my family,” wrote the Mar del Plata native on Instagram, who also congratulated the champion and the locals for their hospitality.

On April 8th Josefina had won the QS 1000 in Port Alfred, her first victory on the world tour, two weeks earlier she had placed second in the QS 1000 in Mar del Plata.

The Argentine, who is also returning from a vacation in Indo, is on a good run.
