2019 Brazilian champion Julia Santos has completed the Brazilian team that will compete at the Surf City ISA World Surfing Games taking place in El Salvador from May 29 to June 6, the surfer reported on her Instagram and a source confirmed to DUKE.

Alongside a design showing her alongside the rest of the team, Santos wrote: “This is so crazy. I am so happy to announce a new achievement in my career. I was called up to be part of the Brazilian team for the World Cup in El Salvador, alongside the idols and the best in the world.”

The Brazilian team is made up as follows:

Men: Italo Ferreira, Gabriel Medina and Filipe Toledo
Ladies: Tatiana Weston-Webb, Silvana Lima and Julia Santos

The five names that were already guaranteed did so through the CT 2019 and following the ISA regulations for Olympic qualification, they must participate in El Salvador to go to Tokyo 2020, if they do not, they will not be able to go to the Olympic Games.

Except that they may miss the event in the Central American country in case of injury.

Brazil is travelling with one of the strongest teams in the world, three athletes who currently occupy the top three spots in the men's CT rankings and one, Weston Webb, who is the current vice-leader of the ranking.

In addition to a very experienced Silvana Lima and the young talent of the aforementioned Santos.
