Uruguayan Julián Schweizer will once again be present at the Pan American Games, this time at Santiago 2023. Regardless of his result at the Surf City El Salvador ISA World Longboard Championship, Schweizer will qualify either for the World Championship or for the Pan American Championship, where he won silver.
The news came after his compatriot, Ignacio Pignataro, lost in the World Cup.
Since this event is of a higher hierarchy than the Pan American event, Schweizer could lose his partial qualification achieved in Panama if Pignataro placed himself in the qualification zone and in a position higher than Schweizer.
Meanwhile, Schweizer managed to advance to the fifth round of the playoffs and has a chance of not using his qualification to Santiago through Panama and giving up his slot earned there.
Schweizer participated in Lima 2019, an event in which he placed second, giving his country one of the few silver medals in all the Pan American Games.
