Julian Schweizer qualified for the 2026 Longboard CT

He returns to the tour after eight years; "I'm happy and motivated, especially to face this challenge a little more mature," he said.

Uruguayan Julián Schweizer has secured a spot on the CT longboard tour for 2026-2027, he announced on his social media.

“I have some great news to share amidst all this World Cup fever. I’ve qualified for the World Longboard Tour. I’m back, I’m back, damn it!” he exclaimed.

“I’m very happy. I was the first Uruguayan to qualify in 2018, eight years ago (…) I’m happy and motivated, especially to face this challenge a little more mature,” he added.

Schweizer qualified by being the best South American in the Philippines qualifying event that took place in January 2026, in which he placed ninth, his coach, Francisco Pérez del Castillo, told DUKE.

He will now compete in the US Open of Surfing in Huntington Beach, California in July, in Bells Beach, Australia in November, in La Unión, Philippines in January and in El Salvador in March 2027.
