Kalani Favela became the first Mexican to win an IBC stage
"I never thought I would be the first Mexican to win this," he declared.
Mexican Kalani Favela became the first Mexican in history to win a stage of the IBC Tour last Wednesday, in a stage that took place in Pascuales, Mexico.
In the grand final, Favela beat Amaury Laverne of France by 13,75 to 11,85.
In the semifinals, he had beaten the legendary Pierre Louis Costes with a near-perfect score of 19 out of 20 possible points, starting the series with a 9 on the wave.
“I want people to see that there has always been a high level of talent in Mexico. I always dreamed that Mexico would reach the top, but I never thought that I would be the first Mexican to win this,” the Mexican declared after winning.
