Kanoa Igarashi's Christmas Gift

The Japanese who has lived in Portugal for much of the year, Kanoa Igarashi, received a Christmas gift in the form of tubes in a Portugal that is as rich in waves as Peru is in gold.

According to filmmaker Peyton Willard, the best waves came in the afternoon. He filmed the morning for about two hours and didn't get much footage, but in the afternoon things got good.

"An epic Christmas Eve surf session in Ericeria, Portugal where the waves were incredible (...) This video is packed with insane wave action, stunning surf cinematography and the vibrant energy of Portugal's stunning coastline," says Willard.
